TIP #1- BEWARE OF BODY LANGUAGE
Just as how impressive your CV is or what you say helps communicate your fit for the job, so too does your body language. Even if your responses to questions are flawless, the wrong body language can send the wrong signal and sour how you’re perceived.
Body language can have a big impact on the way you’re perceived by others, especially at work. While there are plenty of body language don’ts to worry about — fidgeting, for example, makes you look nervous and weak — you can also use non-verbal communication to your advantage.
Here are 10 tricks to keep in mind during your next interview:
- Shake Hands
- Maintain Good Eye
- Sit Upright
- Lean in slightly from time to time
- Keep your arms and legs uncrossed
- Find a place for your hands
- Nod
- Smile
- Walk with Purpose and Energy
- Address Everyone
